Jethro’s Story

History: Jethro was a stray.  The person who found him kept him for months while posting fliers and checking online.  He was never able to locate his owner and was unable to adopt him.  He came to Lulu’s Locker via CRISP: www.crispchicago.com

About:Lap dog alert! If you are looking for a an affectionate, happy, loving companion Jethro just might be your guy!  He loves to snuggle and give kisses.  He has a low energy level and his favorite activities are sitting in your lap and napping.  He does like to play with toys on occasion and anything with a squeaker is his favorite.  Jethro is being fostered with dogs, a cat, and a cockatiel and he is friendly with everyone.  His foster mom does in-home dog sitting and Jethro does get stressed out by the in-and-out of new dogs.  It takes him a few days to adjust to new pets, but after the adjustment period he is fine.  He seems to be the type of guy that likes his life to be a bit more on the predictable side.  He is not crated in his foster home and is not destructive.  Jethro is a Chihuahua and does have a few of traits common to the breed and will guard his resources (Human’s lap, bed, food).  This behavior is very manageable and can be improved upon with effort and consistency.  The person who originally found Jethro said he was great with a 12 year old who was a frequent visitor, but because Jethro does exhibit resource guarding he shouldn’t be placed in a home with small children.  If you adopt Jethro you’ll be sure to have a best bud and constant companion for years to come.
