Lola’s Story

History:  Lola was originally a stray.  She was adopted, but was attacked by a dog that was brought into the home.  She then went to live with Tulip and Nelson and their owner.  All three had to be returned due to changes in housing.

About:   Lola is a timid and shy cat.  We were told that she became very fearful after being attacked by the dog in her original home.  She will need a quiet and patient home to help her come out of her shell and blossom.  She cannot be adopted to homes with dogs.  She is very appropriate with other cats and would occasionally play with Nelson when they lived together.  She needs a period of time to adjust to any new animals (or new things in general).  She would do best with a friendly cat who won’t badger her to play or interact, this would likely cause her to withdraw.  When she is afraid she defaults to hiding as opposed to lashing out.  She enjoys playing with the laser pointer.  After she has had time to warm up to people she becomes very affectionate and will come up for petting or to cuddle with you.  We do not recommend that she be adopted to homes with children because she will likely find them overwhelming, and homes with children are often busier.  We don’t think she will be comfortable with that much action at home. Lola needs a special family who will find it rewarding to help a shy cat become comfortable and interactive.
