Winston’s Story

Winston MUST be adopted with Abigail

**Bonded pairs are two animals that cannot be separated and must be adopted into the same home. The adoption fee for a bonded pair is the same as the adoption fee for a single dog: $185

History:  Winston came with Abigail from a hoarding situation of about 30 small dogs.

About:  Winston is an awesome little guy. He lives with Abby and the resident beagle and has been fine with visiting dogs.  He also lives with three cats and has no problem sitting next to them.  Winston loves people and has been great with everyone but he mostly sticks to his primary person.  Because we would love him to be adopted with Abby we suggest a home without small children as she would do best without the commotion that comes along with.  We think they’d be just fine with visiting children, it’s more about having a slower more predictable home for Abby.

Winston is always looking out for Abby.  He will turn around to make sure she is coming and will stop and wait for her if necessary.  He doesn’t even like to go outside to go potty until he is sure she’s being invited too.  We really hope that they will be adopted together.

Winston has done well on housetraining with a regular schedule.  He will also seek out the puppy pads, but anyone with a pad trained dog knows they don’t always hit the middle 🙂  He does have an occasionally accident but that is likely due to his heart medication which causes him to drink a lot.  He sleeps in his crate at night, and will often go in it during the day to catch some z’s. He’s not much of a toy guy but will occasionally pick up a stuffed toy for a bit if it’s right in front of him.

Winston doesn’t like when people raise their voice so he is very receptive to correction.  He really loves to spend his time with people either lying next to them on the couch or sitting by their feet.  Attention makes his world go-round.  If you’re busy doing chores around the house Winston will follow you and try to figure out what you’re doing and why you’re not sitting on the couch with him.  Winston’s foster mom describes him as: Quiet, Loyal, Cuddler, Attentive and Smart. What more could you want!
