Nylah shares foster space with 2 young, male cats. Nylah has no problem giving them a “hiss” to put them in their place if they get too rowdy.

HISTORY:
Tan and his siblings were surrendered to an open admission shelter when they were around 5 weeks old.

ABOUT:
Tan is both the most adventurous and the most affectionate of his litter. He loves to reach his paw through the bars to try to grab you when he is being transported in his carrier. Tan is also the first to seize any opportunity to run through an open door or between the bars of a baby gate. Once he’s had his fill of adventure for the day he will settle into your lap for some snuggles, or will lay in your hands as if they’re a hammock. He likes to use his little mew to get your attention when he’d like to be pet. Tan is the lone short-hair kitten of the crew.

ABOUT:
So. Much. Floof. Karamo will eventually grow into all his beautiful mane, but for now he is the most gorgeous poofiest kitten in all the land. Karamo is easily distracted and his foster mom always has to hunt around to find him. If you give him 2 seconds along he’ll be on the 4th shelf of the bookshelf, or in the laundry basket, or stuck between the pillows on the couch. He loves to climb, and one of his favorite pass times is batting the fluff on his siblings’ tails. He also loves a good prize fight, particularly with his brother Jonathan. HISTORY:

ABOUT:
Bobby is independent and loves exploring. He is an expert climber...bring it Everest. (And by Everest we mean the 18 inch tall scratching post.) He’s not as much into wrestling as some of his siblings, but he loves to play with anything that dangles or he can bat around. He’s got too many cool things to do, so he can’t always be bothered being held. HISTORY:
Jonathan and his siblings were surrendered to an open admission shelter when they were around 5 weeks old.

ABOUT:
Jonathan is the chillest kitten ever. Ev-Er. He loves long naps and relaxing. When his foster mom opens the door to visit them, he slowly lifts his head and looks at her while everyone else piles up at the door trying to make a break for it. If she leaves the door open for a long time, he might get up enough motivation to go check it out, but he also might not. Same with the carrier. The minute his foster mom opens the carrier door everyone pushes to be the first one out. Jonathan may or may not get up to leave. Can you blame him? He’s already got a spot warmed up, why would he leave to have to start over at a new spot. He loves snuggles and lap time. He is still a kitten and does enjoy playing. He’s fond of wrestling and roughhousing. Jonathan will have medium or long hair as an adult.

FOSTERED IN: Homewood, IL 60430
ESTIMATED DOB: 2007-2009
WEIGHT: 45lbs
KIDS: No/Older
DOGS: Yes
CATS: Some

HISTORY:
Max was surrendered to an open admission shelter. His previous owners said he was 12 years old and was too old for them.

ABOUT:
We believe that Max lived most of his life outside. He has rough calluses, has scars from past fly bites, and some muscle atrophy possibly due to lack of exercise/containment throughout his life. Max is loving the indoor life and desires to be with his pack at all times. If someone is home he will bark and whine until they come see him or he is allowed to go see them. Max has been known to harness his inner bulldozer when a baby gate separates him from his people. His negative feelings towards the baby gate only exist when it is used to separate him from his foster family. While they are gone he is completely content to be contained to the kitchen and leaves the gate intact. Max has access to a crate that he enjoys resting in, but the door is never closed as there is no need.
Max is the kind of dog that makes you feel incredibly important and loved. He demands to be at your side the minute you get home. If you ever wanted to know what it was like to be a celebrity - consider adopting Max. ...but don’t take this to assume that Max is a one-person kind of dog, he’s an all-the-persons kind of dog -- He’s cool hanging with anyone and everyone.
Max is currently being fostered with a few cats, and while he is friendly with them all, he has a strong need to herd them all into one place. He believes he must see them all at one time and will search for anyone who is missing and will herd it into the same room as the others. He is dedicated to this task, so Max will do best in a home with only one, or possibly two cats that are easy going enough to tolerate his demands.
Max is not being fostered with any dogs, but he seems to take his opinion of other dogs from their opinion of him. If they are eager and happy to see him, he is eager and happy to see them. If they are hostile and assertive, he returns the feeling. He’s got quite a few canine buddies in his neighborhood that he interacts with regularly.
Consistency will be a must for Max. He reliably gets his foster family up 5 minutes before their alarm goes off. Every. Day. He likes to follow a routine and thrives on it. He will also do best if he has a job, or at least regular and routine distractions from his need to perform a task. His current self-appointed job is cat herder. He might also enjoy the titles of “sidewalk evaluator” (regular long walks), or “person counter” as he will check on everyone in the house on a regular rotation. Since Max is still learning about the good life, he also needs consistency in training. If you are not consistent with him he will not take you seriously. His foster home uses a leash to direct him to places he can and cannot go as he is used to making his own decisions in that area.
Max is a beautiful older senior that will make any “shepherd-lover’s” heart swoon.

ABOUT:
Rufus a laid back, easy guy of around 9 years old. Rufus loves to go for walks and car rides, but is an excellent napper when he is at home. He enjoys a little bit of play time each day and loves to carry his stuffed toys around. Rufus is being fostered with multiple other dogs and he gets along well with everyone. He is great with people new and old and loves snuggling. Rufus loves to sleep on the back of the couch, his foster mom didn’t realize this at first and thought she lost him in her house somewhere! His ideal home would provide lots of snuggles and leisurely walks down the block.

HISTORY:
Coco2 and Rufus were surrendered due to a divorce.

ABOUT:
Coco2 came to us with a broken jaw (origin unknown) so she was in pain and was a little cranky. Now that she has gotten all fixed up Coco2 is starting to really come out of her shell and become a happy girl. Coco2 has lived with Rufus but she would do well as an only dog, or in homes with other dogs. She doesn’t mind the other dogs, but isn’t interested in much play or interaction. She does love to referee while the other dogs are playing, but if they come over and try to invite her to join in she bails on the situation and convinces her foster mom to give her some one-on-one attention while the others are distracted. Coco2 can be very independent, she prefers to sleep by herself in her crate and can be a little aloof with new people. She does get curious, but she likes to be allowed to make the first move. Coco2 has lived with children in the past, but because she doesn’t love to be monkeyed with, she might do better in an adult only home. Coco2 is housetrained, but being a senior lady she needs a few extra potty breaks during the day. Coco2 walks well on leash, but does best on short walks, but she’d like us to mention that she loves a good car ride. Her ideal afternoon would include a car ride, a massage, and some delicious snacks.

ABOUT:
Cher and Sonny were two very scared little kittens when they first arrived at their foster home. Cher can be a tiny bit shy with new people, but she warms up quickly and loves cuddles and snuggles. She is not at all bothered by the large dogs in her foster home so she would be great in a home with dogs. ABOUT:

He loves his sister and the resident cats in his foster home. He is also very comfortable around the resident dogs and likes to tease them by sitting just out of reach on the other side of a gate. FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60613
AGE: Est DOB: 2004
WEIGHT: 14lbs
KIDS: Older
DOGS: Yes
CATS: Unknown

HISTORY:
Angel was an owner-surrender to a Chicago animal control facility.

ABOUT:
Angel is a foxy little lady – as many who have seen her have commented that she looks like a little fox. In actuality she’s a 14 lb Pomeranian mix. The shelter had her listed at 15 years old but she doesn’t seem or act that old.
Angel absolutely loves going for walks. She becomes animated anytime she thinks she is going to go outside but when she hears the word “walk” she gets very puppy like and will do a dance for you. She can barely contain her excitement. Angel’s foster parents learned quickly that they can’t say “outside” or “walk” without Angel becoming quite eager to head toward the door.
Angel wags her tail and comes running over when you call her, reporting in for pets and tummy rubs. She’s a huge fan of those tummy rubs. The more time she spends in her foster home the more she seems to enjoy snuggling up with the resident humans.
Quickly Angel made the corner under the end table in the living room her own safe spot and she enjoys snoozing there throughout the day.
Angel gets along great with the other small dogs in her foster home and has learned from her foster sister that the best place to watch the neighborhood activity is from the back of the couch that’s up against the big picture window of the living room.
Angel seems to be potty pad trained yet she’s had some accidents in her foster home so her adoptive home will need to be patient with her and work on her routine. So far she is also quite the picky eater and we suspect she may have been used to eating people food in her previous home. When she gets comfortable she’s ok with being picked up but she doesn’t like strangers to pick her up.
Angel is looking for a home who will take her for plenty of walks and provide plenty of snuggles and tummy rubs but will also let her just hang out on the couch or a doggie bed.

ABOUT:

When he does get on your lap, he snuggles into the crook and just starts purring! He has great litter box habits, and does well with other cats. He is very confident and outgoing. He does walk right up to cats to say, hello. He has the cutest white patch on his chest, and will make an excellent companion cat.

HISTORY:
Klondike was surrendered to an open admission south side shelter because his family couldn’t take care of him.

ABOUT:
Klondike caught our attention at the shelter, because he would reach through the bars to grab our arms. He would roll on his back and rub the cage. He became known as the silly, friendly guy in the front cage. Everyone knew him and as soon as we had an opening, we brought him into our program. His silly antics and playful nature continues on in his foster home. He lives in a foster room with 2 other kitties that he gets along with very well.
What would he do for a Klondike bar? We are not sure, but he will do anything for his meals or treats. This guy is very food motivated! We didn’t think his eyes could get any bigger than they already are, but when he saw his wet food, they about popped out.
Klondike would do well in almost any house hold. Come meet him so he can win you over!

ABOUT:
Monkey was really scared when we brought him into our rescue. He would look at us with those piercing green eyes with the softest of looks. Monkey is still on the shier side, but once he trusts you, he comes out for chin scratches. He is very quiet so would probably do best in a quiet home where he is given time to acclimate to his surroundings. He has great litter box habits, and is a hearty eater. He would make a good companion with or without other resident cats. He is a guy that can be easily overlooked, but we know that he would thrive in a home of his own.

HISTORY:
Vigo came from an open admission animal control facility.

ABOUT:
Want to adopt yourself an interesting cat? Look no farther.
1) 80% of all orange cats are male. Vigo is one of the 20% that are female. We knew that most orange cats are male, so we didn’t really look too hard before sending him..er..her...of to be neutered. Well. Vigo had ovaries so he (she) got spayed instead!
2) She sleeps in flower pots on top of dead plants. If you’re a horrible plant parent and have a lot of dead plants, Vigo will make herself at home on them.
3) She’s fine being held until you want to bring her out of somewhere that she shouldn’t be. Then she doesn’t love being held.
4) She loves to bat toys around, but her favorite toy is table-top-clutter. SO many fun things can be found in the piles of things that humans “are going to get around to.”
Vigo is an adaptable, independent older kitten. She’s past the crazy kitten stage, but does get a case or two of the zoomies every day. During the day she likes to play, zoom, and nap on the dining chairs. In the evenings she likes to cuddle. Vigo is being fostered with a cat and she coexists very seamlessly. She is also very comfortable with the resident dog.

ABOUT:
Gah! Talk about an awesome dog. Millie is the sweetest, happiest, little chihuahua girl there ever was. She is great with other dogs and regularly goes to doggy daycare. She is also good with the cats in her foster home. Millie does not live with children, but she is great with everyone so we think she would do fantastic in a home with children. Millie loves to be with her people, or any people for that matter, friends, neighbors, strangers - Millie wants to meet them all! This girl LOVES to give kisses, so if PDA isn’t your thing, Millie might not be the dog for you. Millie is around 10 years old, but still has quite a bit of pep in her step and loves to play and socialize, until she’s tired...then she loves to nap like a proper senior lady. Millie is generally a quiet girl, unless it is a meal time, then she uses all her verbal skills to communicate her needs. Girl loves to eat. HISTORY:
Gretchen came to us from an overcrowded animal control facility in Alabama.

ABOUT:
Gretchen is a sweet and gentle hound mix. She is being fostered with multiple other dogs from 10lbs to 60lbs and she gets along great with everyone. She LOVES to play with other dogs. Gretchen would love to be adopted into a home with a playful dog around her size or larger. Gretchen spends all her energy playing with the other dogs in the home so she is calm and lower energy around the house when she has had her fill. Gretchen is very sweet with all people, but she can be a tiny bit shy with some new people. She’ll do best with calm, patient owners and would probably be best in a home without small active children. She loves walks and is very well behaved on leash. She is also housetrained and crate trained. Gretchen isn’t the scholarly type as she is struggling to learn “sit,” but she’s darn pretty and tries really hard to be a good girl so we hope no one holds this against her.

She will need some patience, but she will reward with sweetness and cuddles. She LOVES her heated bed and sitting and watching out the window on a cat tree. With some encouragement, she will cuddle up with the foster home's big dog and is fine with the resident cats. She will do best with someone experienced and patient with cats and will be fine with other animals (due to her shy nature, small children might not be a good match). The Avengers litter was born to Kit Kat in a foster home. They were born during the night and because their mother was a young first-time mom she did not chew the umbilical cords off leaving the kittens to become tangled after birth.

ABOUT:
Thor is a love bug. He’s generally not by himself as he loves to play with others and sleep with others. If he does venture out on his own it is generally because he has wandered off to play in the bathroom. Thor thinks the bathroom is the most fun room in the whole house. He loves sitting inside the bathtub. His foster mom doesn’t understand his interest in the tub, but it keeps him out of trouble, so who is she to complain! He’s very athletic and loves to jump for the wand toy. He loves to sleep on his foster mom and he will sometimes come up to boop her nose if she makes kissy noises.

HISTORY:
The Avengers litter was born to Kit Kat in a foster home. They were born during the night and because their mother was a young first-time mom she did not chew the umbilical cords off leaving the kittens to become tangled after birth.

ABOUT:
Black Panther is a busy, always on-the-go kind of kitten. He loves to play and wrestle with the other cats and kittens, he also loves to play with the resident dogs. He is very much into hygiene and loves to groom the other cats. If no one wants to play with him he will set off on his own to explore, climb, or chase dust bunnies. Although he’s very interactive with the other pets while he is awake, he generally goes off by himself when it’s nap time. Black Panther is generally too busy to settle down and cuddle with you, but when he slows down enough to be pet he offers up ALL the purrs! He’s generally a very quiet boy and only shares a few words when it’s meal time. Although we like to think he’s perfect his foster mom says he does indeed get into a little mischief on occasion, but good luck with that…he is completely unfazed by the squirt bottle. You’ll be better off to distract him with a wand toy or some fuzzy mice.

HISTORY:
Ygritte and the rest of the Game of Thrones litter were brought to an open admission Animal Control facility without their mother. They were about 5 weeks old.

ABOUT:
Ygritte is the reserved kitty of the bunch. She will need to be adopted with one of her siblings, or into a home with a social resident cat so she can borrow some of their confidence. While she is reserved, she is not necessarily shy and doesn’t default to run and hide when she is scared, she just hunkers down. Ygritte will do best in a patient, calm, and predictable home so older children will be better for her. Her ideal home will take time to help socialize her more and introduce her to new people and experiences in the home while she is still young. Ygritte also has a loving and playful side and is very fond of snuggling with her brother Tormund and making biscuits on his belly. The GOT litter is slowly being introduced to the resident cats and dogs and are doing well.

HISTORY:
Maggie and her buddy Geanie came from Alabama. They had an owner who took the girls into his care from a homeless person. When that owner passed away his elderly father took the girls in and cared for them, unfortunately he had to go into an assisted living facility so the girls came to Lulu’s Locker to find their forever home together.

ABOUT:
Maggie MUST be adopted with her best buddy Geanie. Both of these girls are incredibly sweet. They are both easy going and have a low energy level. Being a little younger, Maggie will occasionally pick up a toy to play Both girls know sit...when food is involved. They are not being fostered with kids, but because they are very calm and sweet we think they would be fine with children as long as they can respect that the girls aren’t interested in running and playing. Both girls are overweight, so they might gain a little more energy as they continue to lose some of their extra pounds. They get along just fine with the resident senior dog.

HISTORY:
Kit Kat was rescued from an open admission shelter in Chicago. She was very pregnant, and gave birth the same night. She had a very difficult delivery, and lost a few of her kittens. She was the most amazing mother and took excellent care of the kittens. She never had an issue with anyone handling them, even the vet!

ABOUT:
Since Kit Kat’s kittens have moved on to their own foster home, Kit Kat has had time to show her personality. She is a spunky, playful girl who likes to bunny kick her stuffed mice. She is very attentive to her humans. She instantly comes up and starts rubbing up against legs to mark people as her very own. She sprawls out when petted, and is very curious about all human activities. She is so much like a kitten herself, that is hard to believe what an amazing mother she was at such a young age.
She is great with the litter box, and is a good, little eater. She will be transitioning into our cat adoption center so we will know more about how she is with other cats very soon!

HISTORY:
Paddy was found as a stray in Chicago around St. Patrick's Day.

ABOUT:
Paddy was found as a stray. Paddy is a laid back dude that needs time to adjust to new environments because he is blind. He is currently in a foster home with 2 adults and 3 dogs. He is fine with the other dogs, but mainly just keeps to himself. He does prefer more laid back dogs that respect his space.
Paddy is still getting use to a housebreaking routine. With being older, he does need more frequent potty breaks. He is currently wearing a belly band, but does not have accidents at night when sleeping. He is not crate trained, but has his own area in the house when he is left alone.
He is very good on walks, and is fine being in public. His two favorite activities are to snuggle on your lap, and lounge in the sun. He likes baths and loves to help assist in the kitchen when meals are being made. Paddy does get his exercise by zooming around at night for a few minutes, and also gets happy feet when he hears his foster parents’ voices.
Paddy will do best in a quiet household that is patient with his potty habits, and mindful of the surroundings since he cannot see.

HISTORY:
Godiva came from a Chicago open intake facility.

ABOUT:
Her good looks aside, Godiva is snuggly, curious, and affectionate. Godiva is very calm and laid back when she is alone. She spends her time alone lounging and watching out the windows. She will occasionally play with her toys a bit, but mostly she just waits for her people to come home. Godiva loves to be around her people and acts as her foster mom’s shadow as she follows her around the house. She will reward your love and attention with tons of purrs! Godiva is being fostered with a young child and loves to curl up with him when he’s sleeping, but she can occasionally be overwhelmed with the activity and interaction of a small child so a home with older children or an adults only home will be ideal. Godiva loves to snuggle on the couch and will have a round with the wand toy if you’re a willing playmate.

HISTORY: Fabio was found as a stray. He had a microchip but his previous owner was unable to be contacted.

ABOUT: Fabio has two major needs in life: Snuggles and Snacks. If you’re looking for an aloof or independent cat Fabio is not the guy for you. Fabio lives for attention and loves to be held. He puts the companion in companion animal. Fabio is also very treat motivated so his foster home has started clicker training with him and said he is very responsive. We would love to find him a home that would continue this enrichment activity that he excels at. Fabio will probably do best in a more calm home. He will never be the star of a sports team, but he will on occasion bat a toy around for a few minutes. You can leave your laser pointer in the drawer, he isn’t falling for it. He’s more of a netflix and chill vs a jane fonda workout video kind of guy. Fabio is a more alpha-male cat and he would do best with calm female feline companions, but would also be a great option for someone who only wants one cat. Adopt Fabio and you will have a shadow and bestie for life.

HISTORY:
Canelo was rescued from a Chicago shelter.

ABOUT:
Canelo is 10 years young. When he first went to his foster home, he did not know the joy of snuggling on the couch. That all changed soon! He is a paws up, binge TV watcher with his favorite person. He does have a few stuffies that he drags around, but not really into toys. He prefers small dogs. He has not done well with big dogs. He lives with older children and has met a younger child and did well.
He does stay in his crate at night and when his foster mom goes out. He does have accidents so someone who is home more to let him out would be ideal.
His favorite thing to do (besides be with his human) is to be outside and go for walks. He is even great about going outside to potty in any type of weather, true Illinois dog!
He would love a home where he could spend a lot of his time on his person’s lap being petted. He is a loyal and loving companion. He doesn’t even mind being carried like a baby once he knows you!

HISTORY:
Ursula was transferred in from another rescue

ABOUT:
Ursula is a friendly, active girl who will greet you at the door (unless it's nap time...if it's nap time, she will nap hard), cuddle with you at night, and will awe you with her athletic skills. While she likes everyone, she seems especially fond of men (definitely not a requirement for adoption, but she seems to fall in love with every man she meets, kind of like her namesake, Ursula Andress). She is very athletic and likes to run around and climb the cat tree. She would be fine as an only cat, but she also loves to cuddle with the resident cats and even sometimes cuddles with the resident dogs (she is very dog friendly, but would choose a cat over a dog as a cuddle partner). She hasn't been around kids, so we don't know how she would do there, but she's quick enough to get away if she needs to. Although she is relatively small for an adult cat, she is mighty and would be a fun addition for any home.

HISTORY:
Jerry and his brother Ben were adopted out from a partner rescue as kittens. When their owner had to enter an assisted living facility we welcomed them into our program.

ABOUT:
Jerry is a handsome, large, gentle boy. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but he does get curious and brave enough to come out and say hi. Jerry is full of purrs and headbutts once he gets to know you. Jerry might be scared at first, but he slowly can be won over with some head scratches and might even take a step towards you for more. One of their feline foster siblings isn’t always appreciative of their presence so Jerry (And his brother) are separated from the resident cats. Their foster mom spends a lot of time with them and sleeps in their room a few evenings each week. On those nights both boys jump up onto the bed to sleep with her. They also greet her at the door with meows and head butts, especially at feeding time. While one of the resident cats doesn’t appreciate them, the boys are very friendly towards her the few times they have met. The second resident cat loves to go for “visits” to Ben and Jerry’s room and they will all lay together and groom each other. If Jerry gets scared he chooses to run and hide and never lashes out or gets angry. Jerry previously lived with a senior dog, and would likely adapt well to a calm dog. Jerry will make a loving, calm companion for anyone lucky enough to adopt him.

Buttercup was surrendered with her kitten to an open admission shelter.

ABOUT:
Buttercup is a very laid-back even-tempered girl. She is not needy and knows how to go with the flow. Buttercup is currently being fostered with a few other cats and three large dogs. She is completely unphased by the other pets in the home. She doesn’t mind if someone chooses to lay with her, but she doesn’t go out of her way to find someone else. She would do great in a home with other pets, or as an only cat, as she is “cool with whatever.” Buttercup was previously at our adoption center but she spent a tad too much time at the food bowl so we moved her to a foster home where her food intake could be managed. Buttercup is never late for a meal, but she also does enjoy playing and exercise. The laser pointer and a wand toy are at the top of her list. Buttercup is being fostered with two teenage children and she is a very patient lady who never seems to get angry or annoyed. We believe Buttercup will be very agreeable and friendly with children, but because she is so relaxed and chill she might not love a very busy household with young active children. Although she is affectionate and loves scratches Buttercup generally chooses to sleep by herself at night. Also...Buttercup is convinced that the absolute best time to solicit attention is when someone is using the restroom and will race to join you!

HISTORY:
King’s owner had been keeping him in their apartment for many many years. The landlord did a surprise visit and realized they had a dog and forced the family to surrender him to a shelter immediately.

ABOUT:
Despite being blind King is an adventurous guy! When he is introduced to a new space the first thing he wants to do is walk around and investigate. King loves to cuddle and snuggle while in the house, but when he is outside he insists on being set down so that he can walk around and explore the world, he has no fear! King does bark when he can’t find anyone but if you call out to him he will quiet up and use his radar-like skills to come find you. He is being fostered with multiple other dogs and he gets along great with everyone and loves to be in the middle of the action. His foster home feels that he would probably do just as well with cats. King lives with a 13 year old boy and they get along great. He would probably do best in a home with someone who is home often, or has other friendly, social pets who can stay with him while the people are gone. King has one silly/peculiar behavior: He loves to sleep with JUST his head covered by a blanket! King’s foster mom used the following words to describe him: Sweet, Gentle, Nuzzly, Cuddly, Adventurous.
Being 13 years old, King has a few medical conditions that potential adopters should know about. He is currently on the heart medications: Vetmedin, Furosemide, and Enapril, but he is receiving a low dose so this could be increased as time goes on if needed. His vet suggested that 1 year would be the very low end of his prognosis, but she often sees dogs live up to 3 years with his condition. We estimate his monthly medications to be around $80. His general blood work is great for a dog his age and he is still very active. King’s foster mom is doing a fantastic job with him and is doing a great job managing his health and is even personally sponsoring his medications and vet visits, but she would love to share the happiness his joy extrudes with a forever home of his own. King is looking for an adopter who wants a great, happy, glass-half-full companion, but who has the financial stability to cover his monthly medications. His foster home is willing to transport King for meet and greets, so you will not be required to visit him in Kankakee.

CATS: Yes

HISTORY:
Milena came from a suburban animal control with her littermates.

ABOUT:
Sweet and gentle Milena is looking for a special home to adopt her. Milena has been with us since she was a little kitten, but she has always been the shy/reserved type. She has been in her current foster home, waiting for adoption, for more than a year. Milena is never going to be a lap cat nor a snuggler, but she is fantastic with other animals. She is currently being fostered with 2 dogs, and 4 cats. Because Milena is more “into” animals than she is people, we will require that she be adopted into a home with at least one other pet who will appreciate and welcome her company. She loves to curl up and hang with the other cats and dogs, but has never been much into playing.
Milena’s ideal home might be one that is looking to add an additional pet as a companion to an existing pet(s), but are concerned about having enough attention to share with another pet. Maybe they work long hours and have an existing pet who could benefit from a buddy, but likes to be the center of attention when it comes to people. Milena will never compete for attention.
Although Milena doesn’t always want people all-up-in-her-business, she is very curious. She loves to sit back and watch the activity of the house. Her foster mom says if she gets scared away it’s only a few minutes before her curiosity draws her back in. You might even say she’s a little creepy in the way that she is always around 🙂 She likes to be around to observe, but will always be at a distance. She will let her foster mom give her some butt scratches on occasion, but they don’t last long and she is never one to seek them out.
Milena’s current foster home has young grandchildren that visit frequently. She always chooses to remove herself from the environment when the kids are around, so she will do best in a home with no children. Visiting children won’t be a problem, she’s smart enough to remove herself until they leave. But overall Milena needs a quiet, predictable environment that cannot be provided by a home with young children.
Chi-Town Shy Cat Program:
Shy cats tend to spend more time waiting for their forever homes because their initial meet and greets don’t go well because they are usually hiding under a chair or behind the couch. Most of these shy cats have come around with their primary caretaker and just need to adjust to a new person and environment.
We have a program specifically designed to give them the chance to shine. Our shy cats are available for a foster to adopt period of 30 days so that they can decompress and become comfortable allowing their potential adopter to get to know them. We will bring all the supplies needed, if the foster chooses to make it permanent and adopt at the end of the 30 days they get to keep all the supplies.
Milena is eligible for adoption through the Chi-Town Shy Cat Program.

Another mystery is what happened to his back left leg. He does not use it much, but he gets around fine. The vet says there’s no need to do anything about his bum leg since he can walk, run, and jump, and he is not in pain. He does not play with toys much but loves to run around and explore and look outside. Most of all, he loves to eat. He will also sit in your lap to be petted and will purr up a storm.

HISTORY:
Rogue was found with her two 4-6 month old kittens in an industrial area.

ABOUT:
Rogue was likely never completely socialized, so she has some quirks about her. Rogue is currently being fostered with two senior female cats and she gets along with them famously. She also was very good with her own kittens before they were adopted out. She is being fostered in a home with dogs and has done well the times she has met them. We believe she would adapt to a cat-savvy dog. Rogue gets very stressed out with excessive handling. She is not comfortable being picked up and it can very very difficult to get her into her carrier. She does love less intrusive handling and will let you scratch and pet her head indefinitely. She has a bit of a playful side and likes to hide in the dark and pounce on her foster mom’s feet at feeding time in the morning. She also likes to play with toys especially mice that jingle and balls. She also likes to play with wand toys but will randomly act afraid of them. She only ever scratches on her cardboard scratching pad. She’s quite the talker and will let her foster mom know that her food bowl is still empty every 3 seconds until it’s ready. She will also mention if her water bowl needs to be filled.
Rogue will need to be adopted by an experienced cat owner. She will need time to trust her new home, but she has done really well in her foster home. She will always have some quirks related to her lack of socialization. She can be a bit unpredictable so she should not go to homes with children. Something that she would tolerate yesterday she might not tolerate today. Things that did not stress her out yesterday, might stress her out today. She would make a fabulous companion for another cat(s).
One day Rogue figured out how to open the door to her “suite.” She went right to the kitchen to demand to be fed. Her foster mom didn’t even notice it was her until she looked down. She didn’t bother looking around or meeting any of other animals, she just went straight to the food.
Her foster mom says she can be chatty and opinionated and you might even say bossy, but also scared and shy. Rogue also has a bit of a silly and playful side.
