History: Fiona was found as a stray and was never claimed by an owner.
About: Fiona is an awesome, easy dog. She has never had a potty accident in her foster home and she does not need to be crated. She does not live with children, but she is gentle, calm, and friendly with every child they encounter on walks. Fiona does not live with other dogs, but she has been friendly and appropriate with all the dogs they meet on walks. She is also good with her foster grandma’s small dog when they have visits.
Fiona clearly had a loving owner before finding herself at animal control. They must have showed their love through food as Fiona was considerably overweight. She is currently on weight-loss food and goes on three brisk walks a day to try to get her down to a healthy weight. You can see that Fiona loves food because she turns into a bit of a diva and will bark at you if you can’t prepare her food as fast as she would like. She will also come and bump your hand when she wants attention, or if you stopped before she felt satisfied.
Fiona is very flexible. She doesn’t mind lounging at home watching movies, and she also does well in busy environments and even got to go to “bring your dog to work day.” She loved all the attention that was showered upon her. Fiona loves everyone she meets, and they can’t help but love her back. She would be great in politics or sales!
Overall she’s generally a bit lazy, but she does get very excited to go on her walks. On nice days she likes to stop periodically and roll around in the grass. Although Fiona is allowed on the furniture she generally prefers to lay on her dog beds…because it’s easier than jumping up on the couch.. You won’t need to worry about Fiona jumping any fences.
Fiona is one of those dogs that we think would adapt well to almost any living situation and would be a great choice for a first-time dog owner. Her foster mom describes her as: Gentle, Calm, Easy-going, Sweet, Affectionate.
