Marley’s Story

History:  Marley was a stray brought into Chicago Animal Care and Control.

About:  Marley is a sweet, mellow old man.  He is looking for a home where he can rest his head for his golden years.  He’s very low energy and likes to spend most of his day alternating between his dog bed and his food bowl.  (Sounds like he has the life we all dream of!) He loves other dogs, but he can’t keep up with high energy dogs even though he would love to.  Marley will need a home with no/few stairs, and might need help getting up and down if you do happen to have a few stairs.  Despite the weakness in his legs, he does seem to find a way to get up on the couch himself 🙂  He LOVES to sit on the couch with his foster family.  Marley also likes to occasionally chew on an antler, or follow his foster family around. But after about 15 minutes he gets tired and needs to go have a nap.  He’s great in the car and has been very appropriate with the kids he has met. He lives with cats but he does try to chase them on occasion.  He might do best with no cats, or possibly would do ok with cats who are dog savvy. Marley is housebroken, but does need to go out more frequently like many senior pets.  Marley’s foster mom used the following words to describe him: Slow, Loving, Cuddly, Old Man, Happy.  Sounds like a pretty awesome guy to us!!
